My name is Chris Dmello, and I am raising funds for my wife, Judy Dmello, aged 46 years, who is bravely fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a severe form of blood cancer.
On 25 December 2023, our lives changed forever when Judy was diagnosed with AML. The very next day, on 26 December 2023, she began her first cycle of chemotherapy, which continued until 1 January 2024, followed by a second round of chemotherapy. Thankfully, the initial treatment showed positive results, giving us hope during one of the darkest phases of our lives.
On 6 April 2024, Judy underwent a bone marrow transplant. As a fully matched donor was not available, the doctors proceeded with a medically advised half-matched donor transplant. The recovery phase was extremely challenging, but by the grace of God and through her incredible strength and determination, Judy gradually recovered. Within eight to nine months, she returned to her normal routine, and for a while, life seemed normal again.
However, after 21 months, our nightmare returned. On 12 December 2025, Judy was readmitted to the hospital following a relapse of leukemia. Since then, she has undergone intensive chemotherapy along with mutation-targeted medication. It has been over 45 days, yet her WBC, RBC, and platelet counts remain dangerously low. Due to her weak immunity, she has been suffering from recurrent infections and persistent fever, and the doctors are doing everything possible to stabilize her condition.
Now, the doctors have advised an urgent second bone marrow transplant, which is scheduled to be done within the next two weeks. The cost of treatment is overwhelming, and despite our best efforts, we are struggling to manage the expenses.
As a husband, it is heartbreaking to watch the love of my life fight for survival every day. Judy is a fighter, and she wants to live, to heal, and to return to her family. But we cannot do this alone.
