As a Community Based Organization (TG population) we invest ourselves heavily in communicating with grassroots LGBTIQ communities and allies around the districts (North and South Dinajpur). We provide health assistance, respond to their crisis, and funding for their betterment, which includes more than 1500 TG population from both districts. Side by side we also advocate for their human rights and equality. Currently, we are running a TI project associated with WBSAP&CS and NACO. Our project activities include awareness about STIs/RTIs, HIV/AIDS; safe sex promotion (condom use); regular health check-ups (STIs/RTIs) including blood tests; personalized counselling (sexual health).
However besides all that, last year (2021 October) we started to celebrate the Durga Puja. The puja totally is totally dedicated to the Community people. Through this celebration, we are able to bring our community together more and more so that they can participate in this event just like themselves, without feeling any hesitations. During the 5 days of celebration, we arrange a fest for them, as well as we also continued our primary target i.e. to make them aware of their health and betterment.
From the response that we received last year from our community population, we are also planning to celebrate the festival once again this year. Our community event namely Sharod Utsab will take place from 1st October 2022 to 5th October 2022 at our Project Office Building, Gangarampur. Last year we bear all the expenses from our own repository. For this, this time we’re looking to raise some funds, to arrange the programme once again. We can’t meet our goal without the help of people like you.
