My name is Gaurav Parikh, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt plea to help save my father, Jayesh Parikh (57), who is battling end-stage liver cirrhosis. Our family is doing everything we can, but we need your support to give him a second chance at life.
Our Journey So Far
My father has always been the pillar of our family—a kind-hearted, hardworking man who put his loved ones before himself. But over the past year, liver cirrhosis has taken a severe toll on him. His health has drastically deteriorated, and he now struggles with severe ascites (fluid buildup), muscle loss, and extreme fatigue.
One of the most challenging aspects of his condition is the weekly fluid removal (paracentesis), where doctors drain liters of fluid from his abdomen to relieve discomfort. This is only a temporary solution, as his liver can no longer function on its own.
In addition to liver disease, he has also been managing diabetes for years, and his liver disease is due to non-alcoholic causes (NAFLD). Despite his efforts, the disease has progressed to a stage where a liver transplant is now the only option for survival. His condition is now critical, and we are racing against time to secure a transplant.
He is registered for a cadaveric liver transplant at Apollo Chennai, and we are currently awaiting a donor. Doctors estimate the waiting period to be 3 to 6 months, during which we must continue managing his critical symptoms.
The Financial Burden
So far, we have spent over ₹10 lakhs on his treatment. The estimated cost of the transplant is ₹28 lakhs, with an additional ₹10-12 lakhs needed for post-transplant care. While we are covering as much as we can, this amount is beyond our means. That is why we are turning to you for help.
How You Can Help
We need ₹28 lakhs to proceed with the transplant, and every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to saving his life. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser with your friends and family. Your support means everything to us.
Additionally, we are also open to liver swap donations, where both families searching for a liver can help each other based on matching blood groups (e.g., if you are looking for an A+ donor and have a B+ willing donor). It could significantly improve my father’s chances of survival. The liver is a regenerative organ, meaning the donor’s liver grows back within months. So if you or someone you know is willing to consider liver donation or explore the possibility, please reach out to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness and generosity will help bring our father back to us.
With gratitude,
Gaurav and Family
