This is Gowtham and I am here to raise funds for my mother Jayanthi S who is 56 years old. She lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu with us. She is a housewife.

Jan 2017, she was admitted in hospital for severe jaundice and after 3 weeks she was discharged healthy. Last year she started developing inflammation in legs (bad water retention) - Edema. July 2021, she developed a fracture due to heaviness because of leg inflammation and was provided medical management She was advised to take up scans which revealed she had Chronic Liver Disease with portal hypertension - NASH (Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) - Liver Cirrhosis.
Last month she was advised for a Liver Transplant as cure. Her pre transplant work up has been completed and she is surgery ready. We have registered with the government for a cadaver-deceased liver transplant and also I am currently getting tested for a living liver match.

Cost for the Liver transplant is around 30 Lakhs minimum - Includes Surgery and Hospitalization, depends on how stable she is during the surgery and just in case if complications, the cost will go higher.
With further research and meeting people who have done liver transplant in the past, we understand that we should be ready for at least 37-40 Lakhs considering the high medications costs, tests and multiple routine checks with the hospital.
As of now we have spent around 5 Lakhs for pre work up and intermittent hospitalization for the symptomatic issues. Currently we are working up the financials to the transplant and we have put all our savings and help from immediate relatives and friends. I believe we are short around 10 lakhs for which I am looking for help to fund raise the same.
