Problem: Not everyone like us can use clean toilets but let’s bring it to them! Clean and proper toilets are not only a comfort but it is a universal human right. Even in a metropolitan city like Mumbai, many school students are deprived of proper toilets. Not having access to clean and properly developed toilets may lead to several illnesses not only to the users but to the public around them. Globally, 1 in 3 schools do not have any toilets. Every day, almost 400 children under five in India die from diarrhea linked to poor sanitation and hygiene. The recent pandemic reminded us of the importance of hygiene and sanitation and functional toilets help us maintain them.

Solution: I, along with the
WE (Women Empowerment) association of Vasant Vihar, need your help to provide access to clean and hygienic toilets to the students of Jawahar Vidya Bhawan School, Chembur. With the help of 55,000/- only, we will be able to help the young children and save them from becoming a victim to sanitation related health problem and viruses that spread from open defecation.

WE organization: WE (Women Empowerment) club of Vasant charitable trust, presently having 45 female members, was established in 2017. The members include professionals like doctors, lawyers, teachers, magistrates, businesswomen, management consultants and housewives. In the past, approximately Rs.15 lacs worth charitable projects have been done by the trust including financial aid towards payment of fees, study material, setting 9f computer & science labs, libraries, free medical camps in LIG res colonies, supply of nutrients to cancer patients, mid-day meals to poor students and many, many more.
About me: I am Akanksha Muralidharan studying in grade 10 of Panbai International School and I am undertaking this campaign because I feel that sanitation and hygiene should be our utmost priority. I believe that every child must have access to a clean and therefore a safe environment and if I can help create one, I am changing lives. I am looking forward to organizing many such campaigns and helping organizations fulfil a person’s dream, save another one’s life and help a person live in a better, safer, and healthier environment. Help WE organization and me to work on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by funding and supporting us to improve the hygiene and sanitation conditions of Jawahar Vidya Bhawan school in Chembur. Help us make the students accessible to clean and properly developed toilets.
