April 2, 2023 Gurgaon: We maintain an animal shelter in Bhondsi, Gurgaon that accommodates 70+ abandoned pets, as well as accident and cruelty victims, and a street dog rescue and feeding programme that serves over 1000 dogs every day.
Our shelter needs maintenance to offer better amenities for the resident dogs because it is falling apart at the seams. Nearly all of the rooms and kennels leak. This has worsened as a result of March's unusually heavy rains, which increased seepage in the walls and severely harmed the roofs. The kitchen, which serves food to more than a thousand dogs every day, is in terrible shape.
We need a new medicine cabinet since the one we have been using for many years is made of wood and is breaking because there is no adequate protection over it from the weather. Also, we require a roof for our storage area so that we can preserve donated goods rather than having them wrecked by rain every time.
Our shelter and street dog feeding team also resides in the shelter. They have need for a functional bathroom which also need repair.
Additionally, if we fix some enclosures, we can also ensure that dogs have separate spaces within the shelter and thus safer environment without territorial fights.
The overall cost of the repairs is anticipated to be about INR 10,00,000 (ten lakh rupees).
Please come forward and donate towards our cause. With your help, we can better serve the dogs of Gurgaon (rural and urban).
