Help Jahnavi Support her Family post her father's untimely demise

Hello, everyone,

This is a fundraiser that implores you to help my friend, Jahnavi out, who has become a victim of terrible bad luck over the last few years. Her life was a smooth-sailing ship, but in recent events, she has been left completely helpless, and I hope her story can motivate you enough to help her out.

Jahnavi is an excellent student- a B.Tech Biotechnology graduate from Sastra University.
She is planning to pursue her masters in Immunotherapeutics at Trinity College Dublin, the only enrolment that has confirmed her a job after she graduates. She has realised that she cannot support her family (her mother and her brother who also needs to complete his education) without a good enough job, and in this field the kind of job she requires is only available to her after she completes her masters. Mentioned below is a letter from Jahnavi, explaining in detail, in her own words the unfortunate situation that she is currently in.

"I lost my Father due to a cardiac arrest when I was in 11th grade. My Father never discussed about his business at home, therefore none of us were aware of the financial situation we were in. Only after his demise, we realised that my Father had faced huge losses in his business, and we were left with only meagre savings. We had to build our life again from scratch. My Mother tried to work, but the fact that she has not completed her college degree made it hard for her to secure a job. She already has a lot of health complications and the stress started taking a toll on her.
With my Mother being a homemaker, it will be hard for her to bear the expenses of my higher studies along with my brother’s school fees.
We have tried asking for a loan with both private banks and nationalised banks but we were unable to get a loan as we have neither sufficient monthly earnings nor collateral. We have tried all possible avenues and failed, therefore I would be grateful if I could get help on this platform. If given the funding, I hope to go for my masters, work and settle in Dublin so that I will be in a position to financially support my family and help my brother with his studies so that hopefully he does not have to face the same situation as me.

I would be eternally grateful for even a little bit of help from your side. I am only asking for enough support that can help me fulfil my dream- which is to get my family back on it's feet again.

Thank you,
At your disposal,
Jahnavi Konduru "

Hello everyone!

At the outset, I would like to thank you all for your generous donations inspite of some of you not knowing me personally.
With help from all of you, we have collected majority of the funds required to cover my expenses and I came real close to following my dream of enrolling on this course, taking on this job in Dublin and lifting my family up from all their financial struggles.

However, in light of the disastrous COVID-19 situation,
the university has deferred my admission to next year. Although disheartened initially, I’ve come to terms with this minor delay in my dreams to come true!

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you all again for the love and support, without which even going next year would not have been a possibility.

I assure you that all your contributions are being parked in a fixed deposit for a year to help accrue some more funds when I need them next year.

I wish to assure you that these funds won’t be touched till next year or used for any other purposes.

Thanking you all once again. We will be ever grateful to all of you, that you all came forward to help even in these difficult times.

God bless you all.

I also feel like this is probably for the best, since my course is a highly practical based one, it will be more beneficial if I can attend next year when I can be on campus rather than taking up online classes this year. I want to thank you again for the love and support, without which even going next year would not have been a possibility. I assure you that all your contributions are not going for a waste as I will be going next year, and I also assure you that the money won’t be used for any other purposes till then.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who supported my campaign. I am honestly overwhelmed at the love and support I’ve received from all of you. This pandemic has been really hard on everyone so I cannot stress on how much I appreciate everyone coming forward to help during these difficult times.
When we received rejections from all the loans we had applied to, I started losing hope of pursuing my higher studies, therefore a simple thank you doesn’t suffice to express what I feel looking at all your contributions. I will be ever grateful to everyone who believed in me and helped make my dream come true. I genuinely hope I can reach a stage in life where I can pay it forward and help someone else in need.

I thought I’d also take this opportunity to share a bit about myself with all my campaign supporters.
I am an introvert by nature, but my close friends wish that I would talk lesser! I absolutely love reading books, you give me a good book and I will not sleep until I finish it. I also love taking pictures, especially of beaches and sunsets, which anybody who looks at my gallery would know instantly. I enjoy baking and drawing, which I’ve been trying to improve during the lockdown, while also binge watching shows like crazy. Another fun fact - I have OCD tendencies, so now you know whom to call to organise your messy room or proofread your essays!

Let me talk a little about my academic interests too and why I chose this course. Biology has always been my favourite subject since my childhood, but the motivation behind pursuing Biotechnology in particular was because of an incurable genetic condition that runs in my family. The helplessness I experienced while watching my family suffer with this disease drove me to take up a carrer in this field, my aim being to find a cure or to reduce the pain of individuals who are affected by such diseases in any way. I know that this goal might seem like I am dreaming big, but with so much positivity and backing from all you kind hearted souls, I feel like I am already one step closer to make my dreams a reality. Thank you for that.

If anyone wants to have a discussion about any of the things I’ve mentioned above or just want someone to talk to (I’ve been told that I’m a very good listener by the way), please feel free to reach out, I would love to get in touch and talk to all of you! Thank you again for all the love and support, it means more to me than I can put into words :)

The fundraiser is receiving some love, but Jahnavi is still far from reaching her goal.

We have collected funds sufficient for her travel and food, but her tuition fee and the fee for rent is still falling short. We wanted to start with a smaller goal since we weren't sure whether people would reach out- and now we are extremely grateful for the donations and love we have received!
