I am Divya, I'm raising funds to help our friend Ivy receive gender-affirming surgery. Due to privacy and safety concerns, I am managing this fundraiser with discretion to avoid any risks that could arise from Ivy being outed to certain relatives or family members.
What are the Surgery Costs?
The surgery is scheduled to take place at a clinic in Thailand specializing in gender-affirming surgeries for trans men, and the total amount needed is Rs. 2,80,000.
This includes:
Mastectomy, Pre- and post-operative medication and care
Ivy will be covering the remaining expenses personally, which include:
Pre-op tests (X-rays, blood tests, psychiatrist consults, etc.)
Travel expenses
Hospital accommodation
Accommodation and meals during a three-week recovery period
Why is this Surgery Important?
Ivy have been binding since puberty, which has caused physical strain on his back and ribs. Living with dysphoria has also made day-to-day life difficult. He has consistently supported his family financially for the past five years, largely through low-paying jobs, and saved a portion toward this surgery. However, he is seeking additional support to meet the full cost.
This surgery is something Ivy has dreamed of for years, as it will relieve his dysphoria, improve his physical health, and allow him to live as himself with greater comfort. However, covering this expense alone would deplete his savings, which have taken years to build up. With his commitment to supporting his family and a limited income, he cannot afford this surgery alone. Top surgery will significantly improve both his physical and mental well-being, helping him feel safe and at home in his body.
