We are a group of enthusiastic and innovative engineering students from Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT), Bengaluru. The goals of our team are simple and straightforward – To bring innovation to the grassroots. We believe that as budding engineers, our first and foremost responsibility lies in providing solutions to problems faced by the common man and much like the way we name ourselves, we Spartans strive to achieve nothing but excellence in our pursuits.
Human-powered transport is often the only type of transport available in underdeveloped or inaccessible parts of the world, and if well designed, can be an increasingly viable form of sustainable transportation. As a first step, we would like to present our entry and compete at the very prestigious Human-Powered Vehicle Challenge (HPVC) Asia-Pacific organized by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as a part of its E-Fest (Engineering Fest) to be held between 28th February – 1st March 2020 in Rajkot, Gujarat for which we have qualified and will be representing our country.
HPVC provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate the application of sound engineering design principles in the development of sustainable and practical transportation alternatives. Students work in teams to design and build efficient, highly engineered vehicles for everyday use—from commuting to work, to carrying goods to market. Teams from all over the world compete with each other in developing the vehicle with the highest endurance, efficiency, safety and power at the major event.
We would like to extend a request to everyone who would like to support us in our endeavours which we find has common ground with everybody's commitment towards environment protection, good health and bringing affordable technology to the masses.
