Clean, healthy water resources reduces human health risks & improved quality of life. Less trash increase recreational activities alongside these precious reservoir’s clean, safe walking & jogging trails for the community at large.

Nashik as a district is blessed with good yearly monsoon, but because of poor rain-water management and harvesting practices, during peak summer season the district faces water shortage.

Activities Planned-
1. Plantation of 1 lakh indigenous trees (Neem, Ashoka, Bamboo etc.) and proper landscaping to beautify the area along the canal and jogging track is projected.

2. De-Silting (removal of the earthy material such as excess sand, mud from the bed of the canal by primitive methods using JCBs, dozer, grader, poclain and dumper truck or tippers to remove the silt and the other waste materials) weeds and garbage certainly will create smooth passage of water.

3. Citizen’s awareness will be created with the help of print media and presentations on a large scale. Also with the help of community mobility from various stake holders for smooth management of the area year on year we plan to run this project on the principle of *“BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE”.*

4. Community Benefits At Large
Modern urban lifestyle is associated with chronic stress, insufficient physical activity and exposure to manmade environmental hazards.
Green Spaces have substantial benefits to human beings and other living creatures.
5. They promote mental and physical health, reduce morbidity and mortality in urban residents by providing psychological relaxation and stress relief, stimulating social unity, supporting physical activity, reducing exposure to air pollutants and excessive heat.
  • Urban Green Space can deliver positive health, social and environmental outcomes for all population groups.
  • It is also associated with better air quality, reduced traffic noise and pollution, cooler climatic temperatures and rich bio-diversity.
  • Usually during summer season all have to resort on supply by water tankers or face water shortage or cuts in water. But by de-silting the canal, its water carrying capacity will drastically increase, leading to increased water storage which will last for longer time during summers benefiting the irrigation to the tree plantation and surrounding farms. This will also save substantial money instead spending on water tankers.
We envisage that, It will soon become a beautiful drive with green forest, rich bio-diversity along the water canal.
Our own Eco-Parks will act as green lungs and carbon sink for Nashik, thus creating a landmark in Nashik’s environment history. Providing a successful role model which can be replicated in various parts of the country.
Trees are essential for the existence of humankind and are one of the greatest sources of oxygen on the earth. Where on one side we are facing the dangers of global warming, air pollution and a decrease in oxygen levels in the atmosphere, there are plenty of trees that hold the entire planet together by supplying sufficient oxygen to all the living organisms.

We have this motto *“EACH ONE PLANT ONE”* wherein each Nashikkar will be motivated to come forward adopt a tree and also donate saplings to create a tree bank. This will lead to creation of Nashik’s own Eco-Park which will act as carbon sink, thus managing individual carbon footprint.

Water & Trees are essential for life, it is time to act, plan & schedule to restore and rejuvenate these most essential natural resources. Eventually this will lead to increased Ground Water Level.
