My name is Krishna Sathishkumar. I am 16 years old. The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India has had devastating effects on everyone. With shortages in oxygen, beds, and other facilities, one of the best ways to protect ourselves from the virus would be to use face masks.
The N95 mask is the most effective, especially for this variant of the virus. Though cloth masks are widely available and easily accessible, and are a cheaper option due to their reuse value, they aren’t as effective at filtering out aerosols (airborne viral particles) as their N95 counterparts.
N95 masks' higher costs and shorter life-span make it an expensive option for community workers like housekeeping staff, who provide essential services and need to go outside their homes for the same. I would like to provide the workers in my community with N95 masks for their safety and the safety of people around them.
Cost per mask: Rs. 40
No. of masks per person: 8 masks
No of people: 125
Total Cost: Rs. 40000
