Baby Hriday aged 6 months from Kasargod is suffering from Extrabiliary Artesia by birth which is a rare case. After thorough investigation the child was treated with HIDA scan, Open Biopsy and Kasai surgery, post which they were referred to Narayana Hospital, Bangalore for further treatment.
Father (Dilip) works in a private company while Mother (Vathsala) is a housewife. They are married for 8 years and they have an elder son aged 6 years. Grandfather is recovering from stroke and grandmother has asthma.. Since baby Hriday has problem by birth, family has been doing all possible things from their end for treatment of the child. Till now they have spent more than Rs 2.5 lakhs for treatment of the child from various ways like savings, gold etc.
Doctors at Narayana Hospital have suggested Liver Transplant Surgery within two months and mother will donate part of her liver to save her child. But estimated cost of the entire treatment is over Rs 18 lakhs and family is in no position to do surgery on their own. They have reached out to various organisations, individuals, PM & CM Relief fund, newspapers to source the amount needed for transplant surgery. We have taken up their cause on humanitarian grounds looking at their situation and also since the baby is very young. We would request you to help them as per your convenience and save life of the child.
