COVID 19 is sparking a revolution which has led to inequality in education. The existing inequality in education has widened the gap because of the sudden transformation to virtual learning. This digital divide is leading to more risks as there are a huge number of students who are dropping out from schools and teachers who lack basic technology and internet support to deliver learning are losing jobs difficult to cope up with the pandemic.
According to the World Economic Forum, 'A record number of children and youth have been affected by schools closing because of COVID-19 and many may never return to education at all'.
Weak internet penetration has turned e-education into a distant dream for many children in rural areas.
This fund will be used to buy devices for teachers and students from rural communities across southern districts of Tamilnadu who are suffering to cope up with lesson planning and learning on a virtual platform.
