The area we serve falls right in the desert region lined with the border. The tribal communities living in these inaccessible areas have been affected severely in the lockdown. Most of these families work as daily wage labourers for sustenance. Hence, they do not have a reserve of ration or any savings to fall back on. As the lockdown got extended, their work has been further stalled, and their houses are running out of food.
As the situation seems unlikely to get better, these families will not have any work available for the next two to three months.
GVCS has identified 4000 families facing a shortage of food and other essentials. We aim to provide for the people in need for at least a month. Our volunteers are preparing comprehensive plans to reach their homes to deliver the relief packages. Our organization has pledged to help those in need since the past 20 years, and we hope to be able to reach out to them in this time of crisis.
A small contribution from your side can help a family for a month. We request you to pledge the best you can!
