We are fellows from Teach For India working in Holy Star English High School, Malwani, Mumbai, Maharashtra viz Ann Mary Philip, Eliza George, Maithreyee Nair and Akriti Sharma.
The pandemic has cost many lives, happiness, success and what not. Today, not every child enrolls in school and less than 50% graduate from school and enter college.
Gazala is a young girl currently in 10th grade in Holy Star English School, from Malwani, Mumbai.
Gazala comes from a low-income family of 7 members- Gazala, her four younger sisters and her parents. She is currently in 10th grade in Holy Star English School, Malwani.
She is very passionate about her studies, particularly Algebra and is enthusiastic in learning music. She aims to be an IPS officer and works hard to achieve her dream. Due to the pandemic her father lost his job and there has not been a steady income. Her mother is looking for small jobs in their community itself. The family finds it very hard to run their essential needs.
Gazala’s school fees have been due for the current year, they have been paying small amounts whenever possible. Now that she is in 10th grade, she won’t be allowed to give the board exams unless her school fees are remitted on time.
We need the money in two-weeks for her to pay the fees.
Kindly help us in whichever capacity you can for Gazala to pursue her education.
