Bangalore has more than 20 government schools with a student population of approximately 200 each (more than 50,000 children across Bangalore) who don't receive the required treatment in case of an emergency due to the lack of basic medical supplies. The presence of a simple first aid box could benefit a child in a unfortunate situation of a minor accident preventing the injury from escalating.
According to the School Safety Policy mandate released by the Government of India (Ministry of Human Resource Development) dated 27th February, 2017, emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, ropes etc. need to be procured and maintained regularly by the School Authorities.Due to the lack of funds and ill-maintenance, these supplies are not present in government schools across Bangalore or are not quarterly restocked.
The funds raised will go towards manufacturing of basic first aid requirements needed by children in case of an emergency with additional details including emergency health contacts and safety procedures.
