Since 2007, Sambhali Trust has dedicated itself to empowering vulnerable communities in Rajasthan. Our programs support those facing social and economic barriers, helping them reclaim their rights and opportunities. From women's and girls empowerment, to LGBTQIA+ inclusion, Sambhali stands for equality, safety, and a future where everyone has a voice.

The Garima Project

Part of the Sambhali Samarth program, the Garima Project was founded in 2021 to address the unique struggles of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Rajasthan. Members of this community often face rejection, discrimination, and abuse, sometimes from their own families. Garima offers them essential psychological aid, empowering them to heal and rebuild their lives. The project also provides a safe space at our Jodhpur office, where LGBTQIA+ individuals can gather, learn about their rights, and find community support. Through partnerships, we raise HIV awareness, organize health screenings, and ensure individuals receive proper healthcare and ART treatments. Additionally, Garima helps community members access essential identification, such as Transgender ID and Aadhar cards, ensuring they receive benefits like those under the Chiranjivi Yojana.

Sambhali Café: A Vision for Inclusion

To further our mission of inclusivity, we’re launching Sambhali Café—one of Rajasthan’s first LGBTQ+-led cafés, located in Jodhpur. Sambhali Café represents more than just a place to enjoy coffee; it stands as a symbol of empowerment, hope, and change, providing meaningful employment and a welcoming environment for LGBTQIA+ individuals. Here, the community can find belonging, self-expression, and financial independence. This café requires essential equipment to operate, with a goal of raising $3,475 (₹2,93,600). Every contribution supports items like coffee machines, pastry counters, and kitchen appliances to help bring this initiative to life.
