About the Campaign

This year, Assam has been witnessing  torrential rains, rising water levels, landslides, erosion have cut off rail and road connectivity, creating acute shortage of food, clean water and medicines.

As per the ASDMA flood reports, 2022; 125 Revenue Circles and 5,577 villages have been impacted by flood incidents, including approximately 1.9 million people; over 100,000 of which are taking shelter in 373 relief camps. Furthermore, 54 people have lost their lives due to flooding and landslides across the state since rains  began on April 6, 2022. A total of 32 Districts have been affected with an overall population of about 5542053 people. One of the major hubs for rice cultivation in India, because of the severity of the floods 108306.18 (hect.), of crop area has been affected.

With severe impact on households and disruption of access to basic amenities, it is pertinent to provide immediate relief to the affected families. Through this campaign we are aiming to reach the severely affected households in Goalpara, Barpeta, Morigaon, Darrang, Baksa, Chirang, Bongaigaon and Dhubri districts of Assam.
