The COVID-19 tragedy unfolding in India became intensely personal when we lost our dear friend and colleague, Abhishek Shukla. And yet, as we grieve our friend's loss, our thoughts immediately go to his family. We wonder if this could have been us. We wonder how our families would cope and shudder. We resolve to do everything we can to help his child at least get the opportunity she deserves. It is in this we ask for your help.
A Bit About Abhishek
Abhishek was one of the brightest among peers. He never let his personal commitment come in the way of his achievements that earned him a successful career at ConveGenius. He will always be remembered by his colleagues as full of life, always enthusiastic for new experiences, and never say no attitude.
He was the sole bread earner of his family, leaving behind his wife Nidhi and his 3-year-old daughter as he lost the battle to COVID-19 and left us on 18 May 2021. He also had the responsibility of marrying his younger sister and taking care of the medical expenses of his aging parents.
Today the family faces a severe existential crisis since Nidhi is a homemaker and the family doesn't have assured sources of income to ensure the child's education. The medical expense for treating Abhishek also forced the family to borrow money from friends and family which was about 12 Lac. The family is now struggling to repay this amount.

He loved his daughter way too much, below is a blog he wrote:
My First Blog
Supporting his family in the time of need
His child deserves the better future that Abhishek was working hard to provide her. We as people who saw him fight his way through all his life, till the very end, have taken inspiration from him and have decided to take up the task of inviting all his esteemed friends, family, and colleagues to come forward and join to support them.
We all are together raising this amount to set up a policy for his child that guarantees a monthly recurring amount that can help ensure an education that equips her to make it in their worlds and give her a chance to make the future that her father would have wanted for her.
The Fund will help the family in marrying his younger sister just the way Abhishek had imagined, provide for the time to time medical requirements for the aging parents, and also repaying the medical expense of 12 Lac which was spent on Abhishek's medical expenses.

How much should I donate?
Any contribution is welcome.
How will the funds be used?
The funds will be used to pay school tuition and school-associated expenses for Abhishek's daughter. These will be maintained in a policy (created for the exclusive benefit of the family) which will ensure some form of monthly earning for the family.

How much money are you targeting to raise?
We are targeting to raise 25lac. We've come up with this based on the current funds available to the family, their current pressing loans, marrying his younger sister, and the expected expenses to ensure the child can get a graduate education of her choice in a professional university. We believe that is what Abhishek would have liked to do for his child and family.
This is how we remember Abhishek (Always smiling, always positive, and always eager to learn)
