About Us
The Family In Action Charitable Trust was founded in 2010 (reg no 1511-IV-216/80G reg no AAATF3195MF20211)
Team members are Tamara Moss (Managing Trustee) and Durga Baresha (Mentor and Project Site Manager). Our work is entirely pro-bono and the funding of the project up until 2019 is by Tamara Moss and a handful of donors. We do not receive a salary for our work. All donations are directly benefitting the children.

Why we seek your help?
For the past 6 years, we have been funding the educational and nutritional needs of the children of the Kalakar Colony Basti in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. From 2015 to 2019, we ran a Learning Centre using Montessori and culturally-tailored learning environment with focus on their ancestral heritage of arts and music. The centre facilitated the literacy, life skills and nutrition needs of 77 children, of which 16 are now currently literate and attending school.

Tamara Moss ran out of her personal funding for the project in 2019. Thanks to the instant support of donors who funded March 2019-2020 school year the children were able to attend a private school for the first time in their lives and continue their education.

How you can help

We are seeking support for the new school year of 2021-2022. The children have already been enrolled thanks to the support of the school principal, who has kindly given us extra time to pay the school fees. For this we are all very grateful as the fundraiser launch has been on hold until all the children returned from their villages. Now as they are confirmed for attendance and the schools are officially reopened we are launching the fundraiser for the childrens' school fees and tiffin.
