We are at a loss for salary payments for the next four months at least. Any revenue from school fees or educational projects has stopped. Inability to pay our staff and teachers will lead to the following:
- Salary cuts for all. (Many of our teachers and staff have already had to take pay cuts. They continue to work at reduced salaries. This has majorly impacted our staff members who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.)
- Laying off staff and teachers. (If we are unable to raise funds now, the jobs of 45 people are under threat. Most of our staff members are the sole breadwinners of their families during this lockdown. Losing their job would put their families at risk.)
- Eventual closure of school. (Lack of funds might lead to this. Inadequate staff and teachers on school might lead to closure of school, thus leaving 150 students at risk of losing access to education.)
Your support now can change people's lives. You will help provide a steady source of income and moreover you will help children come back to school.
In times of crisis like this, we do not want to abandon our staff and teachers.
More than 50% of our students come from families of artisans, daily wage workers, farmers and other BPL backgrounds, who need the continuity and support of their school now, more than ever. Their families are hit economically and may not see a steady income for the foreseeable future. This poses a problem for the families to send their children back to school. We would like to be in a position to welcome all children back to school once we tide over this situation.
Right now, online giving is more important than ever as it will allow us to put your gift to work right away.
To survive for the next 4 months, we need to raise INR 12 lakh now.
Our goal is to raise at least 3 lakhs each for the coming 4 months. Hopefully, at the end of 4 months, we will receive fees again and can start our educational projects too.
