    This fundraiser will benefit

Families affected by second surge of covid-19

    from New Delhi, Delhi

The third family we helped is Binita's (name changed to maintain anonymity). Binita's father's oxygen level dropped to 50, for which he had to be admitted into a hospital. Though his SpO2 levels have been raised, his condition is still unstable. Binita's father is the only earning member for their family of four. Due to the lockdown imposed, Binita is unable to give tuition to her students either. With all forms of income lost and her father at a critical stage in the treatment, Binita's family reached out to us. Help us cover Binita's father's hospital bills and help her family.

The second family we reached out to is Amarjyoti's. Amarjyoti's father has been suffering from kidney failure since November, 2019. After a year of struggling to arrange for funds for his dialysis, Amarjyoti's father suffered from an infection causing his condition to deteriorate. Amidst the ongoing pandemic, their family income has been drastically reduced. With exorbitant medical bills rising, Amarjyoti's family needs your help.

The first family we aim to help is Soumik's (name changed to maintain anonymity). Soumik's father has an acute case of diabetes. Amidst the pandemic, Soumik lost his job. Soon after, his father's condition deteriorated. During the second surge of Covid-19 cases, their entire family tested positive. They are unable to find access to free tiffin services and are unable to pay for groceries or food otherwise. We aim to raise funds to help Soumik and his family with food, groceries and medicine till the condition betters for them. Help us help Soumik's family.

The second wave of COVID-19 has taken India by storm. The pervading health crisis has had severe consequences on families with limited resources. Many have been unable to access fundamental necessities like food, medicine and oxygen due to the surge in prices. Every day sees thousands running from pillar to post for these basic amenities and medical supplies. Organisations have been overwhelmed with requests and require funds themselves. With severe overcrowding in hospital beds, a medical aid of any kind has been challenging to access for a majority of families across India.

At a critical juncture such as this, a small team of individual volunteers felt it was important to build mutual aid networks to supply essential requirements to families crushed under the economic burden that comes hand in hand with exorbitant medical bills. We also aim to reach out to families in the violence affected areas of North-East Delhi, who are in dire need of ration on top of their medical requirements.
