    Needy Families

    from Vapi, Gujarat

Sadly a lot of people I’ve been safely meeting since the beginning of the lockdown on 22nd March ’20, can not even imagine happiness at the moment. They’ve been the lower class all their lives but at the very least they had small jobs that kept their children fed. Needless to mention how they are out of jobs like millions of people but still feel the same hunger and thirst as us and need medical attention that could save their lives.
.
While I can’t save the world or invent a vaccine, I can surely do my bit and though it won’t seem like much in the larger scheme of things, it means the world to someone who’s the only way of survival depends on it. The funds generated will be spent on families, for food kits and when needed, survival cash (for milk, vegetables, medicines) donations from 500-2500 depending on the family members. So far, 140 families have benefited from the previous donations and now we’re in need of your help to continue the good work.
The pandemic has truly rendered them helpless as they can’t even go out to feed their children. So let us privileged people come forward and lend a hand to these people as I believe no child should have to go to sleep hungry at night.
.
To make this clear because of many people legit wonder whether this is a religious activity. I want to go ahead and clarify that this is NOT communal and the donations are not based on the needy’s religion. They are solely based on need and humanity. Since I have also specially appointed a person who is in charge of noting down every single name of the person receiving help, I’ll share the data of the last day they were fed for a better transparency: 12 Hindu Families, 12 Muslim Families, and 1 Christian Family.
.
These people don’t even possess local ration cards and are not entertained for any sort of relief. They’ve been maids, daily wage laborers, migrant workers, fruit and vegetable vendors, truck drivers - the kind of people who serve us and our comforts. Today they need our help and I’ll be damned if we can’t do as little as keeping them alive.

One food kit approximately costs ₹750 and includes the following:

1 kg Dal - ₹110
1 kg oil - ₹110
5 Kgs rice - ₹180
5kg flour - ₹160
100g Dhana - jeera - ₹28
100g turmeric - ₹28
100g chili powder - ₹36
1 kg sugar - ₹40
100g tea - ₹42

My aim is to benefit the maximum number of people I can but obviously a number and target help everything. So I hope I’m able to ensure that at least 1000 families get a food kit. Honestly speaking I don’t know these people as humans, I only know them from humanity. I keep all records of theirs as many details possible will be happy to share those along with photos of them benefitting from the donation, for evidence as well as a proper transparent record of every penny used. The reason I’ve approached Milaap for help is that I want to assure people of the genuineness. A lot of people have been caught taking advantage of this dire crisis to falsely raise money for different causes only to turn out to be for personal usage. That really pains me because it destroys the trust of the people paying their hard-earned money in the hopes of something good coming of it. But in all this manipulation and fraud, the only true victims of this crime are the people who have been struggling and hoping someone would come to their rescue. I don’t have a NGO nor can I create one right now, this would really help some very desperate families.
