Help me to save my dad…
I am Kunal Barla and I am from a tea garden of Dooars. The name of the tea garden is Zurantee TG.
My life was perfect. We were happy family. My parents never fought with each other like others and we have a great bonding among three siblings. I am just 19 years old and pursuing BSW from Mangalore University. Both my Parents work in the tea garden as daily wage laborers. I know life is unpredictable but difficult to accept. It is really impossible to accept until it is too late. My father had BP issues but he is best father, always standing with the family and encouraging us for education. He believed education is development.
I am at home due to covid 19 situation. That Monday afternoon changed everything me and everything for our family. Everything was regular, my father after is morning work had gone to work and in the afternoon he was on his way to attend a funeral. He was about to cross the river and on the middle of the river he collapsed, he kind of drowned in the river and with the help of local people we managed to rescue him. He was unconscious and we rushed to tea garden hospital from there he was sent to sub divisional hospital. After initial inspection they advised us to take him to Siliguri.
It was horrible for me and with the help of a few friends we admitted him in Sunrise Nursing in Siliguri. He is in the ICU and undergoing the treatment.
My dad, my hero who has been the center of our universe and on that day he has suffered a major brain stroke, it has been more than 48 hours he did not open his eyes. Dr. says he is improving very slowly. He is in the ICU for more than 48 hours. Doctors said that it’s a long road towards recovery and warned me that stroke might affect speech, sight and movement as it was a big bleed.
As I said both my parents work as tea plantation daily wage labour, they did not earn enough; we find it difficult to manage our family with our income. The per day in ICU charge is coming around 7000 Rs, Doctors fee, medicine and other expenditures. I do not know what to worry about anymore-financial situation, dad’s condition or mum's unasked questions.
I know difficult situation makes you strong and teaches you many things. I am ready to fight for my father and will do everything to bring him back. I have decided to ask for help. We don’t have enough savings and I still need help to tackle the big bills, provide hospital care and rehabilitation for my dad. Hence, I am asking all of you to generously support me, your donations will enable me to provide the care my dad, my hero needs.
