Eswari and Kannan hail from a marginalized community in Ganapathipuram, a locality in the suburb of Tirumalpur in the Kancheepuram district. Kannan works as a daily wage worker in construction sites and his work has been extremely affected due to Covid and Eswari travels to the city to sell colouring books for a living. Their locality has its nearest pharmacy and hospital at a distance of 12 kms which makes it difficult for them to get the basic of healthcare facilities. They travel a minimum of 3 hours to the city to make their living.

They do not have safe and closed bathrooms and women have a bath in these self built and erected structures.

Women and men need to walk 1 km to relieve themselves in the bushes, even in the dark of the night which is especially unsafe for women.

Their entire structure has been built by themselves and the materials they could avail. Plastic bags, sticks, bark which leads them to get wet during the rain. They have no storage space.

They do not earn enough to have savings and even the little amount that they manage to goes towards the house. This is a reason why they are not able to concentrate on the self development of the family and aid the educational and talent development of the children.

We are raising this money to build them a house with -
a roof which permits the entry of people above 5 ft,
a bathroom and toilet,
lighting facilities along with plug point,
secure locks and doors

Since Eswari and Kannan support three girl children's education, have ailing parents and also a son this will enable them to use their savings for the self development and preservation of the family.
