("The two things I love the most are my mom and my studies - both of them encourage me to go ahead in life. One day I want to get a job so that I can help my mom, but they don’t teach everything at school. I don’t have a laptop, like other kids, to learn on my own, so sometimes I am afraid that I will not be able to fulfill my dreams ever.”)

Studying in their dream university and working in a job that fascinates them is every child’s dream, but not everyone has the resources and guidance to make their dreams come true. In today's skill-based world, the underprivileged youth of India, with neither a degree nor the skills, would take the biggest hit.

The pandemic has created a digital divide in the education of the underprivileged youth of India. While only 36% of India's rural students have received learning material, only 11% have actual access to online classes, according to the ASER survey 2020. Their obstacles are endless, from lack of study resources and mentorship to domestic issues and social discrimination. Moreover, a disappointing gap exists between the skills taught in schools and those required in the job market, making conventional school education inefficacious. It is the need of the hour to help these children achieve their full potential.
We, at Enactus Gargi, toil towards mending the socio-economic divide in society. Project Aagah Fellowship Program is our effort towards eradicating the unsettling gaps affecting the underprivileged youth of India. We aim to make them self-reliant by imparting technical, communication and interpersonal skills and providing internships while fostering their mental health.
Not just teaching them, but we also look forward to financially assisting their education through a full reimbursement of their school fees. Furthermore, the children who outperform will be awarded a scholarship to fund their college education. We can help fulfill their dreams of breaking free from poverty and having a bright future, but only with your kind help!
