Eklavya is promoting higher education among first generation learners from marginalized communities and using higher education as a mean to build development leadership from the grassroots.
This platform provides mentorship, training and guidance to pursue quality education from premier institutes of higher education and enable grassroots leadership through this. We intend to ensure equity, diversity and inclusion in higher education by empowering underprivileged students.
Intervention:
In the last 4 years our intervention helped 225+ students to pursue professional programs in premier institutes of higher education and prestigious fellowships and seek meaningful career in development sector. Many of them started their meaningful career in development sector and striving as grassroots leader. Our mission to enable such 1000 grassroots leaders by 2030.
This years achievements:
In the recently announced result 30 students got selected in Azim Premji University Bangalore and 70 students got into Tata Institute of Social Sciences for its different professional masters programs. This number reaches to 125 as 25 students selected to various prestigious development fellowships like Gandhi Fellowship, SBI_YFI Fellowship and Aspirational District Fellowship. Almost of them are first generation learners coming from marginalized community.
Success Stories:
Mamta Madavi hailing from tribal community in Yavatmal Presently working as a program officer at Lets Endorse organization in order to promote the micro-entrepreneurs in Yavatmal. Mamta Madavi, aims to work for her community, women empowerment, and child education. Mamata (23) has completed her MA Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship from TISS Tuljapur.
Komal Gorde hails from a nomadic tribe community from a small village in Yavatmal district now studying M A Education Azim Premji University Bangalore and she wants to work on the grassroots for education for the children's of nomadic communities.
Hitesh Bhoyar who is first generation graduate coming from an underprivileged family did his masters from TISS joined with a agri startup organization GramHeet as manager which is addressing the post-harvest challenges of farmers. Now running a FPC founded by himself in Yavatmal.
Vikesh Bhagat belongs to a marginal farmers family in Washim district, now working as DM Fellow with Niti Aayogs Aspirations District Program in Nandurnar District of Maharashtra.

Recently our founder Raju Kendre achieved worlds prestigious Chevening Scholarship offered by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office to study in UK. He is selected from the 63000 candidates across 160 participating countries for this global award. This global recognition gives us opportunity take Eklavya's work to next level.

Our core team is voluntary working for Eklavya by doing their own job separately. Due to financial constrains they are not able to give full time to Eklvaya. Couple of members are already sacrificed their year for Eklavya without any remuneration. At this stage Eklavya needs full time dedicated team and necessary resources to sustain this work and we need financial support for the same. Team is on the mission enable such 1000 grassroots leaders trough quality higher education by 2030. To achieve this mission, we require funds of INR 30 lakh for a year sustain our work further.
