For 35 Years, She Saved Animals Alone. Today, She Needs India.
Story For more than 35 years, Jeny Leon has quietly dedicated her life to rescuing injured animals, feeding street dogs daily, fighting cruelty, rehabilitating abandoned animals, and standing up for voiceless lives across India.
Not as a profession.
Not for publicity.
Not for funding.
But because compassion became her life.
What began decades ago as helping one injured dog slowly grew into a massive grassroots rescue ecosystem — one built almost entirely through her own salary, personal sacrifices, sleepless nights, and relentless commitment.
Today, more than 300 rescued and dependent animals directly and indirectly rely on her for food, medicines, shelter, treatment, and survival.
But after losing her corporate income last year, this entire rescue ecosystem has entered a critical phase.
The animals still need feeding.
Medical care still continues.
Senior dogs still need medicines.
Street feeding still happens every day.
Emergency rescues still do not stop.
But one person alone can no longer sustain 35 years of rescue work without community support.
This is no longer just a fundraiser.
This is an appeal to help protect a lifetime of grassroots compassion before it collapses.

HOW THE RESCUE JOURNEY GREW ?
Many people ask:
“How did one person end up caring for so many animals?”
The answer is simple.
Because rescue never really ends after saving a life.
Over the years, many animals rescued by Jeny could never be released back onto the streets again.
Some became blind.
Some lost limbs.
Some became paralysed.
Some were amputees.
Some were abandoned senior dogs.
Some were so traumatised they could never survive outside safely again.
And many who were expected to die… survived because they finally received treatment, safety, love, and lifelong care.
Slowly, rescue turned into responsibility.
More animals arrived.
Some rescued directly.
Some abandoned at her doorstep.
Some dumped into her care because people knew she would never refuse an injured life.
And while all this continued, Jeny simultaneously worked full-time in highly demanding corporate leadership roles for decades — using her own earnings to sustain the rescue ecosystem.

Her salary funded:
- Feeding drives
- Surgeries
- Medicines
- Rescues
- Shelter spaces
- Caregivers
- Transport
- Rehabilitation
- Special-needs animal care
For years, she somehow managed both worlds together.
But today, she has no stable corporate income, sustaining this alone has become impossible.

THE CURRENT CRISIS:
Today, EarthSouls is facing a critical turning point.
The current rented rescue spaces are becoming financially unsustainable, and there is urgent pressure to transition into a lower-cost, consolidated sanctuary setup outside the city.

At the same time:
- Rescues continue daily
- Medical cases continue
- Senior dogs need lifelong care
- Feeding operations continue every single day
- Emergency surgeries and treatments continue
The animals cannot simply be “shut down.”
Many are old.
Many are disabled.
Many have nowhere else to go.

Many have nowhere else to go.
This is why community support has now become absolutely essential.
