I have known Durgesh Sir for almost 7 years now. He taught me chess with all his passion and improved not only my chess skills but my personality too. Yet I am only one out of over a thousand students he has taught. The truth is Durgesh Sir showered each of his students with this level of love and passion. Over the course of his career, he has gained the reputation of being one of the best chess trainers in the city of Bangalore, having trained several state and national level players. He is loved by both students and parents and is one of the most respected teachers in the chess fraternity. On August 3rd 2020, Durgesh Sir suffered a brain hemorrhage. In the hospital, after undergoing successful brain surgery,  Durgesh Sir's recovery is a long process which involves physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, psychological support, sustained day to day medical support and nursing. He has already been billed 14 lakhs with long term expenses (post-operative care) towards neurological rehabilitation, physiotherapy and psychological support yet to be factored in. His medical insurance coverage does not cover even this initial cost and thus funds have to be raised to cover these medical costs.
