I, Dr. Mallika Tiruvadanan, have personally been in touch with one Dr. Sriram who is taking care of this patient at the Primary Health centre.  A number of calls have been exchanged, several times a day, as he wanted guidance to give effective pain relief for the child. As the principles of pain relief and palliative care are still not taught in the medical curriculum this doctor like many others, was facing the challenge. He just happens to be one of the most committed, sincere and compassionate doctors who did not want to give up in his sincere efforts to at least relieve the child's pain, which is the only humane thing one can do at this stage of her disease.
