PROJECT SANJEEVANI
A million begins with One
Project Sanjeevani focuses on creating Oxygen Parks by setting up Bamboo plantations across the country with the help of local landowners and the cooperation of farmer communities. Digipe Foundation has partnered with entities engaged in the end-to-end Bamboo plantation that will help in facilitating the creation of Oxygen Parks. Project Sanjeevani is a pan-India Project. The first of its Project is being launched at Meghamala, a small town in the Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh.
Our Mission: 1crore Bamboo Trees by 2025
Let us make India, Carbon Neutral with Bamboo plantation
We breathe 12 to 14 times a minute and the average life span is about 70-80 years. A Dog breathes 40 times a minute and its life span is about 12-14 years. A Turtle breathes once a minute and lives about 200 years. Whereas, sea turtles breathe once every 5 minutes and can live up to 500 years. But we all know, that breathing faster or slower depends on the availability of Oxygen in the air. Interestingly when we breathe, the air contains only 20.9% of Oxygen. The increasing pollution in the air actually reduces the Oxygen content further down. Oxygen Parks provide Oxygen in enormous quantities, increase the Oxygen content, and absorbs greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, etc.
Socio-Economic Impact :
BENEFITS for Small and Marginal Farmers
Their fragmented & mostly unattended landholdings are leveraged for Bamboo plantations that empower their livelihood
LEVERAGES Sustainable cultivation
For Better farming techniques with the absence of pesticides, all of which result in higher yield per acre making the Project viable.
CREATES Employment Opportunities
For hundreds of agricultural and farm Labourers besides both direct and indirect job opportunities across Industries that use Bamboo.
