My name is Monica and I am here to raise funds for Dhananjay who is just 16 years old. I've known Dhananjay through his mother, Divya who was a care taker of my mother-in-law who had a brain stroke 7 months back and was undergoing treatment. Divya stayed with us for 3 months and her younger son, Dhananjay used to visit her once or twice a month. I remember him as a very quiet and humble boy.
Dhananjay is suffering from Liver abscess which is a mass filled with pus inside the liver. He is currently undergoing treatment at Deen Dayal Hospital, New Delhi. He has already lost 10 kilos. He was admitted earlier for few weeks and discharged. But he has been admitted again 3 days back due to his deteriorating condition. He is currently undergoing treatment to drain the pus in the liver.
Dhananjay lives with his mother, elder brother, and maternal grandmother in Dwarks. His mother, Divya is the sole earner of the family. To make ends meet, Dhananjay's mother works as a caretaker of the sick and elderly. She has to stay away most of the time from her children due to her work as a caretaker.

As she gets assigned for 24/7 caretaking work, she doesn't get a chance to meet her children very often. Divya's two young teenage boys thus are compelled to look after themselves. There is no other family support except Divya's mother who herself does not keep well.
As a daily wager, Divya's source of income is not fixed and permanent. They don't have any savings as they are living from hand to mouth. There is a severe financial crunch in the family as his mother, Divya has not been able to resume her work as there is no one to take care of her son. That's the tragedy of being a daily wager.
As a mother, her heart bleeds out to see the unbearable suffering of her son and financially helpless to provide good medical care and support for the quick recovery of her son. Until now, she has spent all her savings and arranging small amounts by borrowing.
