India is gasping for oxygen, and it needs your help!

The oxygen supply has disappeared before our eyes in rural areas of Bihar, bringing the most critical of its COVID-19 patients to a point of no return. People are breathless and we must step up to make a difference. It is our duty, as citizens of this nation, to help people find 'oxygen' - the basic requirement of us humans to stay alive and save lives of our families.

Goal
Our aim is to provide both short-term and long-term solutions to the oxygen crisis in Rural Bihar.

Step 1:
Provide hospitals with oxygen concentrators and bi-paps that will help those in dire need. These are sources that will not run out and can help more people than oxygen cylinders.

Step 2:
As the most immediate need is Oxygen as of now, an ‘Womenia Chakra Foundation’ initiative in association with ‘Campus Varta’, and ‘Medishala’ is raising money to PURCHASE EQUIPMENT TO SET UP AN OXYGEN GENERATING FACILITY IN VARIOUS HOSPITALS. By having their own supply facility in-house, these hospitals will be able to reduce their dependence on external sources of oxygen supply.

An average 5L/10L concentrator which has a lifespan of 18k hours and will be on an average used for 5 days by a person, will be able to serve ~22k people in its lifetime. This will be more impactful and efficient substitute of oxygen cylinder which requires constant refilling and has multiple logistical challenges.

Ongoing Relief Measures:

Distribution of safety/protective gear
Food security for COVID infected families and ones facing loss of livelihoods
Awareness campaigns to combat vaccine hesitancy and encourage COVID appropriate behaviour

This is a 100% not-for-profit and charitable initiative, with proceeds going exclusively for the equipments.

This has been done in consultation with the local authorities.This oxygen supply system provides oxygen directly to the patient’s ICU bed. It also provides enough oxygen to facilitate refill for thousands of cylinders through a drive-through facility.

An initiative by the ‘Womenia Chakra Foundation’ is running a campaign to raise Rs 1 crore to make sure that is able to work together to do what is needed to get critical ‘Oxygen supplies’ to help those in dire need, as they fight for their lives.
