Current Situation
The second wave has been nothing short of a nightmare for our country. West Bengal, like many large states, is being pummeled by the tsunami of COVID19. The positivity rate as on 18th May is still at 30%+ which is 50% more than the national average. The situation on the ground is bad especially in semi urban & rural areas.
Who are we
We at Kolkata Katalysts (www.kolkatakatalysts.com) strongly believe that Bengal’s medical system needs support. IMMEDIATE SUPPORT.
We are a group of professionals and entrepreneurs who are alumni of St Xaviers College, Jadavpur University, Christ College, NUS Singapore, Boston University & Indian School of Business.
What are we doing
We are working with not for profit hospitals & hospitals serving the poor for as low as Rs 70 per day ($1 per day) to help them augment their medical infrastructure with
We are looking to raise USD 400,000 or INR 3 Crores which could impact an estimated 10,000 lives.
What we have done so far
Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan: A 70 year old hospital with over 100 beds. We have donated an Oxygen Manifold to help them ensure proper supply of oxygen.
Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratisthan: One of the oldest & largest non government hospitals with over 600 beds. They are providing free or part free treatment. We have donated 5 HFNO machines.
Bharat Sevashram Sangha: A 100 year old organization with over 50 centres across the country. We have donated a BIPAP ventilator & essential medicines.
Ramakrishna Mission Sardapita: A branch center of Ramakrishna Math & Mission. Committed to set up a 30 bed covid care facility with all the required equipment & oxygen support.
Shree Vishudanand Hospital: A 100 bed hospital facility which is treating around 50 covid patients per day at an extremely subsidized cost of INR 70 or $1 per day. We have donated 1 HFNO & 2 BIPAP Machines.
Prayas Kharagpur Social Welfare Society: A 40 bed covid care facility is being set up. We have donated 6 concentrators for the same.

1) Are there any fees associated with the campaign?
No. Milaap is a free fundraising platform. We do not deduct any fees from your donation. You are however welcome to make a voluntary tip to cover for our expenses, while making the donation.

Donations above $1000 towards this initiative can be made through Milaap’s 501c3 partner in the US and will receive tax-exemption for US tax-residents.
