The second wave of COVID-19 has engulfed India completely. India being a very populous country, the healthcare system is struggling to keep up as the number of cases exponentially rise every day. With more than 198,000 deaths, and more than 2.9 Million active cases, this second wave requires an immediate response.
ActionAid has been working tirelessly across India ever since the outbreak of this covid-19 pandemic. In the year 2020, ActionAid was able to support 7.8 Million covid effected people with food, ration & hygiene kits.
In this second wave of spread at a very fast speed, ActionAid’s volunteers, partners, and team (500+, and growing) across India are actively serving in various forms to support the effected people with COVID. From building health camps in urban localities to distributing essentials, supporting facilitating centers for returnee migrants and supporting the neediest families in these tough times is something we are doing on a continuous basis.
