தமிழகம் வரலாறு காணாத மருத்துவ நெருக்கடியை சந்தித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது! ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் கொரொனா நோயாளிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டு இருக்கும் நிலையில், நம்மிடம் அதிக நேரம் இல்லை. மக்களின் உயிர்காக்க தாராளமாக நிதி உதவி செய்வீர்!ஆக்சிஜன் தட்டுப்பாட்டால், வடமாநிலங்களில் தொடரும் மரணங்கள் நெஞ்சை உறையச்செய்கிறது.
தொற்று பரவல் தொடர்ந்து அதிகரித்தால், தமிழகத்திலும் இந்நிலை விரைவில் ஏற்படும் என்று மருத்துவர்கள் எச்சரிக்கின்றனர். இப்பொழுதே முன்னெச்சரிக்கையுடன் செயல்பட்டால், கொரொனாவை வெற்றிகொண்டு உயிரிழப்புகளைத் தடுக்க இயலும்.
ஆக்சிஜன் மற்றும் மருத்துவசதிக் குறைவால் கரூர் நாடாளுமன்றத் தொகுதிக்குள் ஒரு உயிர் இழப்பு கூட ஏற்பட்டுவிடக்கூடாது என்பதில் மிகக் கவனமாக இருக்கிறோம்.
கரூர் நாடாளுமன்ற தொகுதி கரூர், கிருஷ்ணராயபுரம், அரவக்குறிச்சி, மணப்பாறை, விராலிமலை, வேடசந்தூர் ஆகிய ஆறு சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதிகளை உள்ளடக்கியது.
பெரும்பாலும் கிராமப்புற பகுதிகளை கொண்ட தொகுதி. கடந்த ஆண்டு கொரொனா தொற்று தொடங்கிய போது, எனது கரூர் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் தொகுதி மேம்பாட்டு நிதி மூலம், வென்டிலேட்டர் உள்ளிட்ட முக்கிய மருத்துவ உபகரணங்கள் அரசு மருத்துவமனைகளுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது. தற்போது நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் தொகுதி மேம்பாட்டு நிதி மத்திய அரசால் கொரொனா தொற்றை முன்னிட்டு இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
ஆகவே இந்த இக்கட்டான சூழலில் மக்களின் உயிர்காக்கும் மருத்துவ உபகரணங்கள் வாங்க, கரூரில் இருக்கும் தொழில்துறையினர் மற்றும் சமூக ஆர்வலர்களுடன் இணைந்து இந்த நிதிதிரட்டும் முயற்சியை துவங்கியிருக்கிறோம்.
நான்கு மாவட்டங்களின் ஆட்சியர்கள், சுகாதாரத்துறை அலுவலர்கள் மற்றும் மருத்துவமனை தலைமை மருத்தவர்களுடன் தொடர்ந்து ஆலோசனையில் ஈடுபட்டு நிலைமையை கண்காணித்து வருகிறோம். ஆக்சிஜன் வசதியுள்ள படுக்கைகளை இரு மடங்கு உயர்த்தியுள்ளோம். ஆனால் தொற்று பரவும் வேகத்திற்கு, ஆக்சிஜன் இருப்பு போதுமானதாக இருக்காதோ என்ற அச்சம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது.
25 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்கள் வசதிக்கும் தொகுதியில், ஏற்கனவே, தொற்று பரவல் எண்ணிக்கை முன்னர் இருந்ததைவிட வேகமாக அதிகரித்து வருகிறது.
மருத்துவர்களின் ஆலோசனைப்படி, 100 ஆக்சிஜன் கான்சென்ட்ரேட்டர்கள் வாங்க முடிவு செய்துள்ளோம். இது ஆக்சிஜன் சிலிண்டர்களுக்கான தேவையை குறைக்க உதவும். மாநில அரசு எடுத்து வரும் முயற்சிக்கு இது உறுதுணையாக அமையும்.

ஒரு ஆக்சிஜன் கான்சென்ட்ரேட்டர் ரூ.84,000 முதல் ரூ1,20,000 வரை விலை மதீப்பீடு செய்யப்படுகிறது. கரூரில் உள்ள அட்வென்சர் சாரிடபில் ட்ரஸ்ட் மூலம் இவை கொள்முதல் செய்யப்பட்டு, மருத்துவமனைகளிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்படும். நீங்கள் அளிக்கும் நன்கொடைக்கு 80G வருமான வரி விலக்கு உண்டு.

From the discussions, we have jointly decided to procure Oxygen concentrators as a precautionary measure. This can ease the demand for oxygen cylinders which are taking longer and longer to procure.
As a first step, I am donating my month’s salary towards the same. We are also working with the local business leaders and are reaching out for support. But the estimated demand in the next few weeks is far exceeding local fundraising efforts. So, we are seeking your support to help shore up our system against the pandemic. The donations will primarily be spent in procuring 100 concentrators for Government Hospitals catering to in Karur, Krishnarayapuram, Aravakurichi, Manapparai, Vedasanthur and Viralimalai. The funds would also be used in providing necessary medical aid as per the needs of the patients like the purchase of mobile ventilators, essential drugs for treatment, and other covid related relief efforts as the need arises.
Based on the quotes we have received, the price per unit of the concentrators varies from Rs.84,000 to Rs.1,20,000 and takes an average of 2 weeks to deliver. We are partnering with The Adventure Charitable Trust, Karur to procure and deliver the required equipment.

Across the country, several hundred lives have been lost due to lack of oxygen. If the spread continues, the medical fraternity has informed that Karur and other parts of Tamil Nadu will see a similar situation in a week or two. As the Member of Parliament from Karur, I want to avoid such a dire situation. We want to ensure that not a single life is lost due to lack of medical support. As a precautionary measure, we are working now to expand the availability of oxygen.
Karur Parliamentary Constituency consists of 6 rural Assembly segments spanning over 4 districts. We have been working with the district administration, Deans of Medical colleges, Chief medical officers of hospitals and the Civil Society in all four districts and we have expanded the availability of beds with Oxygen support. But This will not be enough for the demand we are going to see in the coming days.
There are over 25 lakh people living in the constituency. Already, the number of infections has reached an all-time high across the constituency and is rapidly growing. The demand of oxygen and beds is on the rise. The hospitals are inching towards full capacity. The heart wrenching sight we see in the cities today will be here in about a week. If we act now, we can save hundreds of lives in the region.
