    This fundraiser will benefit

Communities in Chennai which is prone to air pollution

    from Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Breaking Incident: In several parts of Chennai & Bengaluru people are consuming toxic substances every single day - just by breathing. Yes, it’s true.

Air in many neighbourhoods is turning poisonous because of unchecked industrial activity. The damage is no longer invisible. It is in our lungs, in our water, in our fish, in our soil, and in our futures.

To understand how serious this is, let’s look at Ennore, Chennai.
Ennore was once a living paradise mangroves, turtles, fish, birds, and a thriving fisherfolk community. The Kosasthalaiyar River met the Bay of Bengal here, forming one of Tamil Nadu’s richest ecosystems.
But in the name of development, everything turned upside down.
  • Mangroves were razed.
  • Turtles stopped nesting.
  • Fish washed up lifeless.
  • Birds disappeared.
  • Fisher families moved out.
  • Drinking water started smelling like petrol.
  • Oil slicks formed on the river.
  • Floods worsened during monsoons.
Ennore today is surrounded by 34 red-category industries and the largest garbage dump in the region. Over 656 acres of the river’s backwater has been encroached by both private and public companies.

And in December 2023 alone, Ennore suffered an oil spill and a gas leak incidents,  activists now call the life in Ennore is “the deadly normal.”

The immediate victims are All of us and the generation that comes after us. Ennore is just one example. If it is factories in Chennai, its traffic in Bengaluru.  similar crises are unfolding quietly.

Why We Are Raising Funds?

There is an urgent need to change the way young people engage with environmental problems.

That is where AGAI comes in. AGAI is a soon-to-be registered organisation working with Gen Z with a vision to build a fearless mindset among Gen Zs by dismantling fear-based conditioning and nurturing critical consciousness, courage, and collective action.

Between January and May 2026, AGAI will be co-designing and organising ethical, non-violent, creative and effective campaign with Gen-Zs in Chennai and Bengaluru.

So we are raising Rs. 20,000 to support these youth-led (Gen Zs) campaigns.

How the ₹20,000 Will Be Used?

Every rupee goes directly into youth-run climate actions:
  • Creative demonstrations and art-based awareness
  • Materials for public campaigns (only eco-friendly materials will be used)
  • Local travel for campaign activities
  • Refreshments for participants while organising events - (As per our policies, use and throw plastic water bottles will not be purchased, food packed in eco-friendly material is only allowed, will be promoting local shops )
  • On-ground mobilisation in Chennai & Bengaluru
No salary. No admin cost . No printing T-shirts. Only action.

Why This Matters?
This is not just another awareness drive. This is a chance for young people to step out of fear and silence and take ownership of the air they breathe.

Expected Outcomes (Jan-May 2026)
  • 1 on-ground climate campaigns in Chennai, Bengaluru
  • 2,000+ people reached through street events, creative demonstrations, and conversations
  • 1,00,000+ online reach through youth-led social media content
  • One drafted policy for controlling air pollution through research
Impact:
  • policy-level changes for reducing air pollution by the government of the respective states.
  • Increased public conversations on air quality
  • More communities engaging in environmental concerns
  • A rising ecosystem of young climate leaders
  • Young people moving from silence to voice, and from fear to courage
Why We Need You?
Air is the one thing we all share. If it becomes toxic, the harm does not choose class, caste, or gender.

Gen Z is ready to act. They just need a little support to turn their ideas into real, visible, public action.
Your contribution, even a small one, becomes part of a much larger movement for climate justice.

You are not donating to an organisation. You are investing in young people fighting for breathable air.
