I am Laba Naik, an SBI- Youth for India fellow based out of one of Rajasthan's most backward blocks - Kotra. I work in Seva Mandir's non-formal education center (Shiksha Kendra) in Nayawas village where we offer out-of-school children access to quality primary education.
These children, aged 6 to 14 years, have limited access to education, and I am determined to make a difference in their lives. Today, I am launching a crowdfunding campaign to set up a computer lab that will open up doors of opportunities for these young minds.
Nayawas is a remote village where access to quality education is scarce. Many children here do not have the privilege of attending regular schools and lack exposure to modern technologies. Through our non-formal education program, we have been able to provide basic literacy and numeracy skills to these children. But I believe that computer education is vital in today's world, and a computer lab can be a game-changer for them.
With a computer lab, these children can gain computer literacy, coding skills, and access to online resources. They will learn about the digital world, acquire modern skills, and improve their employability prospects. The computer lab will be a hub of knowledge and creativity, where these children can explore, learn, and grow. It will be a stepping stone towards breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering them with a brighter future.
I had the privilege of experiencing the same when I was a student in a tribal residential school in Odisha not so long ago where I got exposure to a computer lab and a new world of opportunities was made available to me.
Setting up a computer lab requires funds for computers, accessories, furniture, and other related expenses and I am raising funds for the same.
