Hello! My name is Punya Agrawal, I am a grade 12 student from New Delhi. Finding myself and my peers perpetually distressed with climate change and environmental degradation becoming such a huge problem for the world, I founded the initiative Environmental Action Community Help (EACH).
Drawing on my enthusiasm for supporting grassroots innovation, I developed and conceptualised this social action effort in the hopes of encouraging environmental participation among low-income children in the greater NCR using creative techniques. When a large segment of society is excluded from change, hardly anything succeeds. Even in the struggle for a better world, we must all work together to achieve our goals.
In order to do this, I created an educational resource in the form of a curriculum. The R-EACH Guide (Recycling Environmental Action and Community Help) teaches youngsters about the significance of recycling as well as at-home recycling techniques that they may use to minimise the amount of plastic litter they create. Not only that, but in an effort to make environmental education and action more approachable, I created EACH Day, a daily calendar that includes a variety of environmental recommendations, hints, tips, tactics, and rules. I conducted research and compiled 365 unique ideas for kids to act on.
I'm raising funds in collaboration with the esteemed New Delhi-based organisation Hamari Pahchan for the donation of physical copies of the environmental educational curriculum and also the calendar, which will tremendously benefit the children. All donations raised via this campaign will go directly to Hamari Pahchan and will be utilised to support both this effort and the wonderful job that the organisation is doing in the field of education and opportunity generation for these children.
