Tomorrow, I, Bhabani Sankar Hota, begin a journey no parent is ever prepared for. The 5 year old baby of Bhabani Sankar , who should be going to school, laughing with friends, and dreaming about the future, is now bravely fighting a life-threatening condition called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an aggressive Grade 4 brain tumor. What started as a slight imbalance while walking quickly turned into something far more serious within weeks. After multiple scans, medical evaluations, and hospital visits, we received a diagnosis that shattered our world. She is currently undergoing treatment under expert doctors at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, where urgent radiation therapy has been advised to control the tumor and ease symptoms. For better outcomes, we are also exploring Proton Beam Therapy, a highly specialized treatment that offers hope but comes with a very high cost.
The total estimated cost for treatment, including hospitalization, radiation, medications, and advanced therapy, is around ₹50 lakhs. As a father, I am doing everything I can, but this is a battle I cannot fight alone. Watching her go through pain and procedures is heartbreaking, yet she continues to show incredible strength, giving us courage every day.
