We are raising funds for our colleague’s niece, a 6-year-old girl living in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with her parents.
She was diagnosed in early childhood with Beta Thalassemia Major, a severe genetic blood disorder that requires frequent blood transfusions and lifelong care. A stem cell transplant was the only curative option for her condition.
After immense effort, her family was able to arrange for this life-saving procedure. She underwent a stem cell transplant on 12th March 2026 at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. However, soon after the transplant, she developed serious complications, including pneumonia and Type 1 respiratory failure. Since then, she has been in critical condition in the ICU, requiring intensive and prolonged medical care.
Her family had already exhausted all their financial resources arranging funds for the transplant. Unfortunately, these unexpected complications have led to a sudden and massive increase in medical expenses.
The hospital has now estimated that an additional ₹31,00,000 is required to cover the current outstanding bills and ongoing treatment, and the cost may increase further depending on her condition.
This is an extremely difficult time for her and her family. We humbly request everyone to come forward and support her in this fight for life.
