Our daughter, Mullagiri Manaswini, is 12 years old and has been living with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus since 2021.
Type 1 Diabetes is a lifelong condition that requires daily insulin injections to survive. For the past four years, Manaswini has depended on multiple insulin doses every day. Despite our best efforts, managing her condition has been physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting for our family.
Doctors have now recommended a specialized treatment called Islet Cell Transplantation, available at AIG Hospitals, Hyderabad. This procedure has the potential to significantly reduce or eliminate lifelong insulin dependency and improve her quality of life. However, the estimated cost of the surgery is ₹40,00,000, which is far beyond our financial capacity.
We come from a low-income family with limited resources and no savings. Meeting even the monthly cost of insulin, medical tests, and hospital visits has been a constant struggle. Arranging funds for this surgery on our own is simply not possible.
