Sometimes you stumble into your destiny, sometimes you glide into it gracefully and sometimes you arrive at it, in denial, kicking and screaming. I must admit, fellow rescuer, Sahil Nirman and I are in the last category.Rescuing has always been a huge part of who we are for well over 20 years and we tried to stay away from formalising it out of fear - my fingers quiver on the keyboard even as I type these words.
Rescue is hard, demanding, frustrating work and we know it isn't always possible to have people open up their  places to us when we find an injured or critically ill animal, even though many have. And the options that do open up are sometimes too expensive to be viable over an extended period of time. We have over time, gathered a small little posse of old, injured and rescued animals that are housed at various boardings around - some still on the street in risky conditions, so we're taking a leap of faith - Sahil and I, who have been rescuing animals together for quite a few years, decided to collaborate our efforts and start a little home for senior dogs - to give them a safe and secure place to rest their weary and aching bones without being kicked or shooed or run over.
We've had the support of many of our kind and large hearted friends who have helped us help the many animals we have rescued, treated and found homes for over the years and we hope they will continue to support this new initiative and enlist the help of their friends to help me give the animals in my care a safe place they can call home for the rest of their days.

So fearfully, we put this forward and hope the universe will guide us.We need your help in raising funds to:

1. Register and set up a trust for old dogs and abused.
2. Rent a small place to house all the dogs we've already have rescued and still await rescue from the street because we don't have the place to keep them as yet.
3. Construction of the rooms and sheds to house them from the oncoming harsh winter barely a month away.
4. Caretaker's and staff salaries
5. Medication, veterinary bills, food and supplies

Hopefully this amount will get us off to a comfortable start. The animals need your help to do this - every contribution, however small helps in a big, big way. Give the old dogs a chance to make it through the winter and the coming months.

So here's taking a leap of faith - faith in you, the universe and ourselves.
