Chandana, the name translates in to ‘ Sandalwood’ in kannada. Only daughter of Ram Murthy and Rathnamma, lived to their expectation till one and half years back when she developed intense headache and was diagnosed to have Cortical vein thrombosis.
A B.com graduate and an aspiring CA had to abruptly stop her work. She is been in and out of the hospital since then. Father Ram murthy is a retired BEML employee. He has registered himself for seeking the job at the age of 65.Irrespective of their financial constraints, couples had taken care of their daughter like a baby in her sickness.
As though these were not enough, Destiny was dastardly cruel. Chandana developed massive stroke ( PCA territory infarct) and admitted in state of shock and unconsciousness to SPARSH Multi Speciality Hospital,Infantry Road,Bangalore on 23/Oct/ 2019.With good treatment & care, . She is able to open her eyes, recognize her parents and attempts a word or two. She is given food though tube as she doesn’t have swallowing reflex yet. She has paralysis of right side. She also has urinary tract infection.
In spite of this, her aged parents have not abandoned their hope. For them, all they pray is her life. They are ready to take care even if she is dependent on them for life time. Life couldn’t have been worse to them. Yet, they haven’t broken down.
Even the best of the medicine & science may not reverse her paralysis. She may need dependent care for rest of her life. Her further coarse may be riddled with complications of stroke.
Yet, it’s a life. Chandana has right to life, a life with dignity. A life that may last for few more months or years. None the less, every day counts to her parents.
