'Armour of Care"is a group of selfless volunteers comprising of ex-army officers , doctors and young civilians of the country.Founded by Maj Madhan Kumar (Retd) and few other retired army officers and doctors during Chennai floods of 2015,AoC currently has a workforce of 1000 Volunteers across the Globe.
The vision and mission of AoC is "To rise by lifting others" and to serve the Nation and it's citizens on priority:always and everytime.
We aren't a formal registered group but we get intensely activated when the Nation calls.From the 2015 Chennai floods to Vardha to Kerala,Kodagu and now Covid.All of us are scattered across the Globe and connected just via our smart phones and mostly whatsapp.We deploy people, resources funds ,relief ,rehab and medicines along with smiles and hope to people in distress.
The best part of the format of A0C is that,on just a call from the founder members,hundreds of young volunteers(from around the world) join us and mobilize help seamlessly wherever required;through mobile phones and whatsapp.(https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1013156242095779&ref=content_filter)
Currently AoC Chennai is looking after procuring and delivering basic medical equipment(N95 masks,PPE kits,3ply masks,covid kits,sanitizers) for our saviours;the health care professionals ;and we are working continuously to find genuine vendors and our young Volunteers are door delivering it to our doctors every second day ,last 15 days.We are also supplying essential rations to our brothers and sisters from the North Eastern states who are stranded in Chennai and Coimbatore.
Meanwhile AoC Bangalore is identifying pockets of migrant settlements and providing essential food kits to see that no one goes hungry in this crisis.
The names and faces in this mission are plenty...it doesn't matter..as long as it's by the country for the country.
The day the situation stabilises,we dissolve the whatsapp groups and go back to our regular lives as regular people.
