This campaign is running to collect funds for the poor marginalized community in Bihar to cope with the evolving economic crisis due to COVID -19 lockdown and creating awareness about this disease.

Centre DIRECT works are on the ground working to respond to this global health emergency that could threaten the lives of vulnerable poor marginalized families. But we can’t do it without you - please donate today.

The funds collected will be disseminated among the most vulnerable marginalized poor families of 8 districts of Bihar. These marginalized families are those who are not getting benefited by any of the governmental schemes eg. those who do not have a Ration card,  BPL certificate and other necessary documents to avail the government welfare schemes. 

Around 2500 families will be benefited from this campaign. An estimated number of families in each target district mentioned below:-

• Muzaffarpur – 400 families
• Sitamarhi – 400 families
• Gaya - 400 families
• Rohtas - 100 families
• Patna - 400 families
• Seohar -100 families
• Nalanda – 400 families
• Jehanabad – 300 families

The modus operandi of our organization in this time of crisis will be in the following manner with proper and authentic utilization of every penny collected through this fundraising campaign:-

• We are trying to help that marginalized section of the society mentioned above by supplying them with a GROCERY KIT that can sustain their families for the upcoming 2 weeks, or even more than that.
• A grocery kit will contain sufficient quantities of 5 kg wheat/rice, oil, sugar, tea, 2 kg lentils, soaps, and a coronavirus awareness pamphlet. The cost of feeding and sustaining a whole family for 2 weeks is only Rs 1000
• Give free masks and sanitizers to help prevent the spread of the virus.

We believe that civil society organizations that are deeply rooted in local communities are best positioned to lead long-term plans to stop COVID-19. It should be in phase manner and simultaneously, it will be supported directly with the helping hand of other partners also. Your donation to this fund will help build stronger response capacities in communities around the state of Bihar so that we are all better equipped to face future outbreaks.

This campaign is run by Centre DIRECT, which is a voluntary organization, founded in 1993, and is registered under the Society Registration Act, 1860.  The organization has been tremendously working in the field related to the empowerment of women, youth and children. We are dedicated to Education, Child Protection, Health & Nutrition and are tremendously working in these fields.

It is also important to pen down here that our organization is dedicated towards this noble work and during the course of this work the rule of social distancing set up by the government will be followed in each and every case. Before distributing food and other essential supplies to the needy ones, the local authorities will be consulted and necessary permission will be taken. We would make sure that the supplies which we are distributing must reach those who are in real need.
