The floods this year have been worse than ever!
We are a cancer facility treating underprivileged patients from some of the most underserved locations in northeast India. The Assam floods have been ongoing for 8 days now, the second time in one month.
The overflowing Barak river coupled with the continuous heavy rains have heavily waterlogged Silchar. As a cancer hospital, patients are our priority, however, we are rapidly falling short on resources. 

• The entrance of the hospital is water logged.
• We are using make-shift rafts to transport patients in and out of the hospital, which is extremely dangerous for the patients and their family members.
• OPD consultations are being conducted on the road, leading to the hospital where the water logging is minimal.
• We are very low on fuel, consumption of which is 50 litres/ hour because of power outage
• There is a shortage of food and clothing
• We are running out of drinking water
• The homes of several of our staff have been destroyed.

 We have appealed to the local authorities and the public through social media for support. We have tried our best to keep our patients safe. We urgently require support for food, drinking water, boat rentals and diesel to continue support for our patients and ensure safety and survival of our staff.
