The floods this year have been worse than ever!
We are a cancer facility treating underprivileged patients from some of the most underserved locations in northeast India. The Assam floods have been ongoing for 8 days now, the second time in one month.
The overflowing Barak river coupled with the continuous heavy rains have heavily waterlogged Silchar. As a cancer hospital, patients are our priority, however, we are rapidly falling short on resources.

- The entrance of the hospital is water logged.
- We are using make-shift rafts to transport patients in and out of the hospital, which is extremely dangerous for the patients and their family members.
- OPD consultations are being conducted on the road, leading to the hospital where the water logging is minimal.
- We are very low on fuel, consumption of which is 50 litres/ hour because of power outage
- There is a shortage of food and clothing
- We are running out of drinking water
- The homes of several of our staff have been destroyed.
