They are creative, curious, and full of potential, yet opportunities to explore their talents remain few. Many are first-generation learners, with parents who have never had the chance to study beyond primary school, and classrooms that often lack the resources to help them flourish.
But change is taking root here. Makkala Jagriti, is dedicated to transforming education for children in rural Karnataka. Through Holistic Development Learning Centres in rural schools, Makkala Jagriti provides children with the guidance, support, and inspiring learning environment they need to grow emotionally, intellectually, creatively, physically and ethically.
This Daan Utsav and festive season, we have a unique chance to transform the lives of children in rural Karnataka. This time, we aim to raise ₹10 lakhs to empower 400+ children in Gadag and Koppal, so that every child can dream big, learn freely, and realise their true potential.

About Makkala Jagriti
Makkala Jagriti (MJ) is an award-winning non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering children and youth from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Karnataka. Since 2003, Makkala Jagriti has been facilitating holistic development opportunities for children and youth across Anganwadis, Government Schools, Child Care Institutions, and urban poor communities.
