Ladakh over the years has experienced a major population explosion of Stray Dogs. The condition of many of these are horrible as many are hit by cars, starved to death especially during winters when the temperature dips down to minus 20. There are hardly any hospitals that help rehabilitated the injured or sick dogs to their health. So we want to build a space where these stray kids can be brought back to health. This Centre would also ofcourse focus on sterilisation which is our ultimate aim to curb the population in a cruelty free way, as many are being poisoned or being abandoned at a place where they ultimatly die of hunger.
Chespa Foundation is a platform where people with a single goal come together to work as long term employees as well as short term Volunteers.

We have been working with stray animals since 2015 informally with its first ever adoption camp of Ladakh. Since then we have organised feeding drives during covid, we organise several adoption camps in Leh each year, we also provide rescue aids whenever we have enough volunteers. After our registration in 2021, we have been working more formally and seriously to minimise the suffering of these street animals and are constantly working towards controlling the population of stray dogs in as compassionate way as possible.
