About Eco Nalanda
Eco Nalanda is a unique initiative blending ecological restoration, skill-based education, and spiritual ecology. Guided by the principles of compassion and sustainability, our work is grounded in the Buddhist traditions of harmony with nature and mindful living.
We are creating a model center in Nalanda, Bihar — where forests grow, livelihoods thrive, and communities reconnect with nature.

Our Mission
Our work is rooted in three focus areas:
1. Ecological Regeneration
- Planting over 1,500 native tree species to build a living biodiversity arboretum
- Promoting agroforestry and permaculture practices
- Reviving degraded lands and restoring habitat integrity
- Skill development in areas such as organic farming, pottery, automotive repair, and construction
- Educational workshops for local schools and youth groups
- Creating green livelihoods for tribal and rural communities
- Hosting the Indo-Tibetan Music & Culture Festival to promote eco-conscious traditions
- Celebrating spiritual events through ecological activities like tree planting
- Integrating ancient teachings with environmental education
With your support, we aim to:
- Expand our reforestation efforts and maintain existing plantations
- Develop eco-infrastructure including water management, composting systems, and learning spaces
- Fund community training programs throughout the year
- Run year-round workshops and events for schoolchildren and youth
- Provide materials, tools, and ongoing support for green livelihood programs
₹1,000 – Plant and maintain 5 native tree saplings
₹5,000 – Train 2 youth in permaculture or craftsmanship
₹10,000 – Conduct a full-day environmental workshop
₹50,000 – Set up a small-scale permaculture system
₹1,00,000+ – Fund infrastructure for water harvesting or training centers
All funds are directly used for fieldwork, materials, facilitation, and care of the people and ecosystems involved.
